Alkyd, Exterior Gloss (MPI Gloss Level 6)

A white, or colored, gloss, alkyd based paint intended for use on new and previously painted primed exterior wood and metal surfaces, primarily residential and commercial trim, doors and frames. Application by brush, roller and air or airless spray.

[Gloss must be a minimum of 70 units @ 60° and fineness of grind — 6 Hegman units. Other evaluated characteristics include dry time, hiding power by contrast ratio method, reflectance, flexibility, sealing properties, water resistance, resistance to biological growth, and accelerated weathering.
